The Author
Kathryn Staley-Hamm was raised in the Fond du Lac area. She
began her music career early, at age seven with violin lessons.
Brought up in a musical family, she began voice and piano
lessons at age 14 with Madame Ada Lombardi, a vocal teacher from
Italy. Through Lombardi's teaching Kathryn learned discipline
and respect for vocal technique. This formed the basis for her
current teaching method and vocal guide books, “Pure Voice” and
"Pure Voice The Heart of Singing for Kids'.
After attending Marion College in Fond du Lac, Kathryn moved to
Chicago and began a professional singing career. She attended
the Chicago Conservatory, furthering her studies in voice;
French, German, and Italian diction; piano; and music theory.
In 1980 she moved back to the Wisconsin area.
Kathryn has been teaching voice in Wisconsin for over 20 years. To promote her students, she has produced and directed several music revues, recitals and concerts. Her teaching is a vocal technique method suitable for students of all styles and most ages.
